ALLERFORD

Allerford is a charming Grade II listed Georgian residence located in Uplyme, close to Lyme Regis, set within a characterful historic setting.

The proposed addition takes inspiration from traditional Georgian garden buildings, reinterpreting them as a refined contemporary conservatory formed from timber and glass. Positioned discreetly behind an existing Devon flint boundary wall, the extension remains largely hidden from the entrance courtyard, where only a slim edge of the standing-seam roof appears to hover above a frameless clerestory glazing band and the flint wall beneath.

Internally, the new structure is arranged as a sequence of stepped levels descending from the main house into the garden. These three tiers correspond to kitchen, dining and living areas, allowing the spaces to flow into one another while still providing subtle definition between their functions within the cascading layout.
