NORTH OXFORD

A highly innovative reinforced concrete structure which uses a waffle slab system.

As an alternative to conventional squares, triangle sections built with C40 mix showcase strength and durability throughout the structure. Two large concrete picture frames support the suspended roof slab off cantilever beams with a maximum cantilever of 3.8m.

The structure is supported by a reinforced concrete mat foundation to spread the load evenly as opposed to individual strip footings. Incorporating penetrations for post drilled glass discs in the roof slab, the canopy blends aesthetic with function, allowing natural light to enhance the space beneath.
