CROXLEY PARK

As part of the business park upgrade we were asked to look into the structural design of a number of elements around the park to include new canopies to units 3 and 4.
The entrance canopy brief was to create a slim unobtrusive profile that would help update the aesthetic of the building to support a re-brand for the centre. A lightweight structure ensuring minimal deflection of the long span roof was critical. Additionally the structure had to work with the roofs rainwater run off strategy to delicately balance functionality and design.
The curved seating area provided a central hub for the site. The canopy was created using steel profiled sections cantilevered off a semi circular reinforced concrete base. The curved structure provided much of the lateral stability for the frame.
