Shamshad Sahak
Civil & Structural Engineer
University Lecturer

What prompted you to start a career in Civil/Structural Engineering

I have spent over five years working in building design using both concrete and steel. I’ve worked on different projects, including Mohib Tower, and I served as a lecturer at KNU University. Through my experience, I realized that being a lecturer focuses mostly on theory, but practical fieldwork is very different — and essential. That’s why I’ve shifted my focus toward more hands-on roles where I can apply both knowledge and experience.

How has your previous experience helped you at Centrespace Design?

My previous jobs gave me both academic and practical experience. As a lecturer, I learned how to explain complex engineering concepts, and as an engineer, I learned how to apply those ideas in real-world situations. Now, at Centrespace Design, I use this combined knowledge to contribute to projects effectively and bring creative solutions into practice.

Which part of your work gives you the greatest sense of achievement?

The most satisfying part of my work is when I see a design I’ve worked on turn into a real structure. Watching a project develop from an idea to a completed building — and knowing I contributed to that process — gives me a strong sense of accomplishment.

How would people describe you?

People often describe me as hardworking, curious, and committed to continuous learning. I am friendly, responsible, and always looking for ways to grow — both personally and professionally.

What motivates you to do what you do?

I am motivated by the chance to solve problems, learn new things, and improve my skills. I enjoy researching, finding better methods, and contributing something valuable to the world through my work.

What can you be found doing when you’re not at work?

When I’m not working, I spend my time studying, doing research, and finding smart solutions to engineering problems. I love learning and my dream is to make a positive difference — to build a better world for people through education and innovation.
