Daniel Ball
Founder and Partner
I’m an Architectural Engineer with a hands-on background across a wide range of sectors; commercial, residential, retail, education and industrial. I’ve always been drawn to the problem-solving side of construction, and bring a deep knowledge of materials and how to use them in creative, practical ways. I enjoy finding smart, efficient structural solutions, whether it’s a complex multi-storey build or a small, detailed project. Clear communication has always been central to how I work. I believe good design and good conversations go hand in hand. At Centrespace, we focus on building strong relationships as much as strong structures.
What prompted you to start Centrespace?
There’s a real sense of pride looking back at what we’ve built over the years at Centrespace. It all started with an idea on a train during the recession, and it’s grown into a well-rounded SME. Our team has been built not just on skill and expertise, but on how well we work together and with our clients.
How has your previous experience helped you at Centrespace Design?
My background in Project Management has been invaluable. It’s something I stumbled into, but I’m grateful for the training and tools it gave me, it’s helped in more ways than I expected.
Which part of your work gives you the greatest sense of achievement?
Seeing the team grow and push themselves is a big one. I love those moments when we’re in the office brainstorming and land on the idea that solves a tough challenge. And of course, seeing the final result on site, and the client’s reaction. That’s a great feeling.
How would people describe you?
Always happy and always on the look out for more work! A hardworking retriever dog!
What motivates you to do what you do?
I really believe Centrespace is on its way to something big. We’ve grown rapidly in the last year, and I think that momentum will continue in what’s shaping up to be an exciting market. The range of services we offer and the sectors we’re moving into are expanding all the time. And as we grow, we’re committed to staying collaborative, transparent, and easy to work with — that’s something we never want to lose.
What can you be found doing when you’re not at work?
Climbing, playing cricket or Skiing with my boys, walking the dogs & cats, and taking my wife Kirsty for a spin down the country lanes in the Triumph.
