Nathan Luff
Civil Engineer

Who I am and what makes me tick..

Nathan is a civil engineer with a passion for maths, problem solving, and hands-on project work, bringing international experience from New Zealand in land development.

What prompted you to start a career in Civil Engineering

I enjoy maths and problem solving, but I’ve always wanted a bit more variety than a desk job. For me, being an engineer is the perfect combination of both.

How has your previous experience helped you at Centrespace Design?

Before moving to the UK, I specialised as a civil engineer in land development in New Zealand. Water is managed a bit differently back home, so I can use my experience to find solutions by looking at problems through a different lens.

Which part of your work gives you the greatest sense of achievement?

I get a real kick out of seeing projects start to take shape on the construction site. Being out there while it’s all happening and building relationships with contractors is a great experience.

How would people describe you?

I would hope people see me as a person who makes things easier, not harder!

What motivates you to do what you do?

Working together with all sorts of people. It’s very rewarding contributing to big projects and it’s a lot of fun being part of a big team. You can learn something from everyone you meet.

What can you be found doing when you’re not at work?

Most likely rowing! If I’m not on the water, I’ll be hanging out with friends, watching sport or exploring new places.
