The Oxford Preservation Trust (OPT) was established nearly a century ago and the OPT Awards are themselves almost 50 years old.
OPT was established to preserve the best of the old, to encourage the best of the new, and to educate people about the city of Oxford and its surroundings.
The Awards are an important part of this, seeking to recognize the finest new buildings and the most exemplary efforts to preserve older structures. This year, with the new Green Award, projects were also recognised which demonstrate excellent work towards sustainability.
Despite the difficulties posed in 2020 many projects were considered. In the 43rd year of the OPT Awards, forty-five competitors were considered, eventually awarding eight plaques and fifteen certificates the most striking projects. Centrespace Design are delighted to have worked on the award winning Brasenose farm with our client Kitchen Architecture Ltd. Their commitment to preservation, design and sustainability is second to non, reflected in the achievement of the Large Building Conservation award.
