Working with client Threadneedle and Morgan Lovell alongside Spratley & Partners, we worked to deliver a business park upgrade for Croxley Park - looking into the structural design of a number of elements including new canopies to units 3 and 4.
Our goal was to create a slim unobtrusive profile that would help update the aesthetic of the building to support a re-brand for the centre.
To ensure minimal deflection of the long span roof, a lightweight structure was critical. Additionally, it also had to work with the roofs rainwater run off strategy, to balance functionality and design.
Curved seating provided a central hub for the site and the canopy was created using steel profiled sections cantilevered off a semi circular reinforced concrete base to provide lateral stability for the frame.
